Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment forms, as well as the visitor’s IP address and user agent string in the browser to help us detect spam.
An anonymised string (also called a hash) created from your email addresses can be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to have your name, email address and website saved in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill them in again when you leave another comment. These cookies will be valid for one year.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Integrated content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly the same as visitors viewing another website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking from third parties, and track your interaction with embedded content, including tracking your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.
Who we share data with
Personal data is not shared with any third party and is not used for marketing campaigns. You can use anonymous IP or you can request IP reset if you wish. You have a choice.
How long data is retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This way we can automatically recognise and approve all subsequent comments instead of keeping them in a queue for moderation.
For users (if any) who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (but cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights do you have regarding personal data
If you have an account or have left comments on this website, you can request to receive an export file with the personal data we hold about you, including all the data you have provided to us. You can also ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include all data that we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitors’ comments can be checked by an automated spam detection service. They can be analysed in terms of geographical location and to determine the audience interested in the project being promoted. Personal data is not given to third parties.
